Probably not too much. They just know the rotation of judges and they just have it continued until they find the right one that's a hunting, golfing or fishing buddy, or they just wait for a judge that is known for throwing out certain traffic tickets. My wife recently got an extremely lame ticket for getting over to early in a turning lane at a stop light. Cops pulled over about 100 people at that same spot in 2 days. She went to talk to the DA and he told her he could reduce it, but advised her to go ahead and take it to court because he knew the judge that day was pissed about the cops flooding his courtroom with such a stupid ticket. The DA actually told her the judge would throw it out, and that's exactly what he did. There were about 50 people there for that same violation and he threw them all out at one time. She paid the cost of court and that was that.
