I got caught up in the forum hype and was afraid the stock turbo was going to blow up and ruin the engine inexplicably . So I took this one out at 74k miles. I replaced it with a BNR 16g. Oil changed every 4k with full synthetic. Wife used it as a commuter car so it spent most of its life idling in traffic. I however drove it on weekends so it saw some boost on the weekends. Jarrad at PDX tuning had a look at the turbo and said it was perfect. It has no front to back shaft play. I'm told the little bit of side to side shaft play is normal without oil in the turbo (what do I know) Regardless, as some of you may know I got tired of the oil leaks in the car especially since I only ever drive it on weekends, and I bought her a nice reliable boring NEW Honda wagon.
Anyway I have some pictures of it. It's in fantastic shape with very little corrosion as it's a Hawaii car and don't have any of that, what do you call it? SNOW. Any questions let me know.
Car was a 2005 legacy GT wagon with POS 5eat in it.
It was never stage 1 or 2 so it ran stock boost on the stock car. Her car went straight to stage 3.
Additionally,it's 80 and sunny in those pictures... and they were taken 10 minutes ago.
