IMO, the oil level warning is SOA's way of covering their butts. They want to be all ecologically friendly with the 7500mi OCI recommendation. This way, if people run them low on oil between oil changes, to the point of a warranty claim, they can blame the owner for not taking action.

Makes you wonder if the low level warning is stored in memory on the vehicle. Real easy to top them up after damage occurs.
