Just happened to me last night. LGT is fixable, her car, probably not so much...

I was headed one way, she was headed the other and made a left turn in front of me, no way for me to stop in time. I hit just in front of her passenger rear wheel well. She spun around, caught the curb with the driver's rear wheel which sheared off at the hub and went under her car.

My wife was in the passenger seat. Everyone was mostly OK aside from a few bumps and being thrown around a lot.
