Frank_ster-first off i want to stress that i respect your opinion and you are a very big asset to the community. the fact the ecu will learn to pull anywhere between 2-4 degrees of timing as well as overboost which will cause turbo dynamics to step in and make a rollercoaster of a boost curve makes me disagree. Tuning for proper boost control and timing thus proper load calculations is essential to a proper running engine....
Baconbits- the reason a tune is suggested is the computer controls boost via wastegate duty cycle and the stock settings are far from ideal once a free flowing downpipe is installed. This causes the ecu to hunt for the boost target *keep in mind the stock boost target is 13psi* since turbo dynamics is in play.
