As far as I'm concerned, the jury is out on whether the hood scoop delete will be a good idea or not
My point is that a ducted (underhood) TMIC seems like it would gain heatsoak, just by being fed air that has crossed over a hot radiator and engine - even more so in stop-and-go, sitting in traffic. Then into a TMIC that is sitting over a hot engine.
Fortunately the turbo is down in front, ala the 5th Gen Legacy, so this does alleviate some of the next-to-a-blazing-hot-turbo issues that we deal with on the 4th Gens.
As I mentioned previously, Subaru over-engineers its bits, and it certainly looks like there should be a more airflow than the MS6's tiny ducting into their TMIC (which sits right between the engine and the radiator and over the turbo). So we will see whether the "hood delete" as you've described it is a good idea or not.
