It's possible that you'll be just fine without doing either, but it's also possible that you'll end up breaking something at those power levels. Just weigh the up front costs vs the chance of breakage at an inconvenient time and decide on your own risk level.

Then maybe 290awhp to 300awhp is more reasonable? I'm looking for stock STi power no more then that.
