So long story short my shortblock has the metal shavings thing which my subaru guy verified, so I'm now waiting for a 2010 STi shortblock which I believe has the nitrated crank.
I will take this oppertunity to upgrade my turbo with bnr's modded VF40 with 18G turbine wheel and TD05H compressor wheel - this car will be my daily driver so I didn't want to get all crazy..
