I do a mix of short/long drives. Good thing I did my pcv when I did, it was completely silent when I shook it. Also, the rubber was harder than hell, I had to break the hose with a screw driver to get it off of the block. As long as this is somewhat normal i'm not going to worry too much.

Edit: would seafoam help that?
