Get 17x7" rims if possible, and run 215/55/17 snow tires on them. This reduces the tread width a little to help with winter traction, and actually makes the speedometer more accurate. Used WRX rims will also work if they are not STI rims. I run 205/60/16 Firestone Winterforce tires on my oem steel rims, but this would not work on a GT or 3.6R due to rotor diameter.
