I guess... IT all depends on teh financial aid allotted to you, in addition to loans. I forget the stats, but the large majority of students experience financial aid or scholarship contribution of some sorts.

ive gone to both - private, and state. They're both gettin' expensive.

There are some private schools in CT that are cheaper than UCONN (thanks sports program! lol).
