OP, this is going to be a very personal decision for you.
If you come from a long line of MT cars and are set on a MT but are wondering if you can convince yourself into buying an AT, then don't.
Just get a MT and don't "settle".
I chose an AT because I prefer it for daily driving, don't have to worry about the wife breaking it, drives great, better awd (active vs reactive).
Learned to drive on MT and had plenty to get my fill. From now on MT for me is for weekend cars.
