I think if you torque it hard enough to seal, it gets squished. Remove / replace it a few times, add some heat-cycling... it tears. If you're going to fit it and forget it, get the stock part. I will be doing more turbo swaps in the near future so a new stock one will get trashed, no matter how tender we are with install.
