I would be shocked if Jatco failed to correctly design their oil bath, pickup point, and level markings. The pump may be in the front, but the pickup from the sump is more towards the middle. Have people ever reported issues going up or down steep inclines? There are a bunch of these in San Francisco (where I sit now) and all over mountainous areas (where I use to drive my LGT), yet no one has said a word about this ever being a problem. Sometimes you just have to accept that the engineers got something right
Like every other fluid in the car, fill it to between E and F, or L and H, per the instructions in the manual.
