Have you read about my similar experience? After I had some ATF drained it now shifts MUCH better. Mine was overfilled just about the same amount as yours. Now it sits about a quarter inch BELOW the hot minimum mark.
Well maybe they didn't think about the levels of acceleration were reaching. The oil raises at the back of the tranny and starts to get frothed from rotating parts.
Oil level around the add mark or just below is probably best
