I'd go with a vf52 and get it tuned. If you haven't upgraded the DP it's a go time to do it.
Also if you can, remove the studs in the up pipe and replace them with good bolts. I got my bolts and nuts from the dealer. It's much easier to install the turbo and new oil return line, hint, hint, hint.
Use anti-seize compound on the nuts and bolts.
178,000+ miles, 5/20/12 new ej257 short block, 8/20/11 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
