^ It forces the cold side pipe to be wedged between the fans and timing cover. The fit on that pipe is bad enough already. I have yet to see a kit with a centered core that has not eaten the pipe, or coupler because it is shoved against the timing cover already. I did not feel comfortable with the extra tightness when using the radiator. So, I do not recommend it and recommend the slim fans and shroud.

In the past people have installed slim fans with no shroud. This actually decreases efficiency and ends up working worse than an OEM set up. With the Mishimoto shroud you get the benefit of the larger radiator and still maintain excellent airflow and efficiency.
