Subaru has "replace spark plugs" at their 30,000 mile service. Every mechanic I talk to outside of Subaru tells me this is not necessary. I have friends that are owner of Toyota and Nissans to look in their manual at they tell me it’s recommended at around 70,000. When it’s time for my 30,000 mile I will ask if I choose not to replace them, will it affect the rest of my warranty. I feel change of spark plus at 30,000 mile is overkill. Plus the fact a couple dealerships in my area recently got busted for saying they replaced the spark plus but didn’t, just told the customers they did, how would you ever know unless you pulled them yourself to look? I’m not saying the Subaru dealership would do this, but the fact is you would never know if they did or didn’t change them.
