BTW - I also installed the puddle lamps. Both installs highly recommended... Thinking of doing interior too but a little pricey for all 3 lights.
Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I didn't see this answered. I ran into this myself and I just filed down the 2 notches on the back of the gray plastic housing bulb holder and flipped it around. Problem solved. You'll notice there are 2 grooves those notches are keyed to fit into that get in the way when it's flipped the other way.
