UPDATE: the Perrin was rubbing sporadically on my clutch cylinder clearance to the cap is about 1/8" - 3/16" - but i can still get the cap off.

i remounted the TMIC ABOVE the green support bracket on the Left side. no more rubbing. the clearance didnt change, but since mounting the IC over the bracket the twisting motion of the engine under load doesnt push it into the cylinder NICE!!

i can get my hand into the scoop and can feel about an inch gap between the TMIC and the boot on the underside of the hood.

i cant see how this could possibly effect cooling at any speeds over 20 mph as the boot is so focused on the intercooler. the only downside i can think of is now rain, snow, salt, crap can more easilly blow over the back of the IC.
