Last week I was asked if my car was a BMW by some ditzy-looking high school girl. Last night I was giving a female coworker a ride home and she asked, "Why does your car start to whistle when you go fast?"
To which I responded, "Oh, that's the flux capacitor kicking in."
She said, "What's that do?"
"Well, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour... you're going to see some serious shit."
The really sad thing is, she didn't clue in to the movie reference until she was getting out of my car. At that point I explained to her that the car is turbocharged and that was the sound it starts to make as the turbo spools. It was a painful, but brief conversation.
