If I owned a Subaru (or any car) with a turbo I would only use synthetic oil and change the oil and filter at least every 5000 miles. I would not go over this OCI without a used oil analysis.
I agree about reducing the OCI.
However IMHO, as the filter becomes clogged, the filter bypass system will be triggered more frequently (under load) which would increase the chances of particles getting passed to and lodged in the banjo belt screens.
