The cause was a piston pin access plug leaking.

The correction was a resealing of #2 piston pin...

I'll try to find the paperwork from when my car did this when I first bought it. Some pin in the crankcase or something backed out causing the oil leak. It is a relatively easy fix.

The change in part numbers is probably due to the newer models using the different finish on the calipers. The calipers seem to the the non-rusting aluminum? on the later models.

Good looking car. Good looking photos EXCEPT those power line shadows on the subject (car) are really distracting. Either edit them out, or take the pictures so the shadows aren't on the car.

The reason so many hate the new gen is because it went from affordable 3 series/a4 competitior to camry/accord/taurus competitor. Unfortunately, subaru changed focus. As a family sedan, it's good....
