  1. Is this "flaw" in the OEM tune affect SpecB's as well ? If this is a known flaw, why is there not a Subaru recall on this ? I'm hesitant to modify my stock tune when under warranty because the dealer says that it will void the powertrain warranty.
  2. I use ENEOS 5w40 with the OEM Subaru Black filter and car runs great. I've tried most of the major brand PAO full synthetic oils and the ENEOS has the car running silky smooth and with great Fuel Economy. City around 11l/100kms, and hwy around 8l/100km. No complaints.
  3. Steveston Mini meet friday at 2pm garry point park. hope you can make it.
  4. Mini Meet in Steveston today Friday at 2pm Garry point park.
  5. are you in vancouver or stateside
  6. Do you guys have the latest flash to lean out the whole fuel map ? SOA apparently was running excessive fuel on the northamerican and canadian Turbo models, so much so that this was the reason for the hesitation between 3-4 k rpm. The new map uses the optimum lean mixture while still being rich enough to give the correct mixture under full boost. I have noticed a lot more power and a savings of approx. 2 litres/100km
  7. When you guys take your cars in to get that turbo line inspected, if they install the extra bracket and do not replace the line, make sure that if they check the tightness of the existing top pipe clamp (the one nearest to the turbo with the black rubber insert), that they ensure that pipe clamp remaims properly centered around the pipe if they tighten the clamp bolt. On my car all was perfect before the car went in and I insisted that I watched what they were doing as I was forewarned about the dealer being sloppy. The mechanic put the wrench on the bolt and tightened without holding that clamp steady...Result : the clamp rotated and was now digging into the side of the pipe. As soon as I left the dealership, I loosened that bolt and properly positioned the clamp before tightening the bolt again. Had I not noticed that, the clamp would had worn through the rubber bushing and ruptured the pipe. You just can't find good help anymore. I honestly suggest that all of us who are mechanically inclined pay for the 72 hr subscription and download all the manuals for your car, so you can do the work yourself. That way you know that things are done correctly. After this now being the second very negative experience at the dealer, I will not be taking the car back there ever again. Hopefully it doesn't need any other warranty work. Go check that clamp !!!
  8. Hi all, you may find this link very informative. http://techinfo.subaru.com/html/index.jsp login : yvrpilot71 pwd: boxerturbo Expires : 09/20/2008 12:22:07 AM EST If someone wants to host all the info on a site that would be much appreciated. There is a lot to download, but very useful info. I found the TSB for the ECU update to address the hesitation at approx 3500rpm during hard acceleration, went to the dealer and they said that I did need that reflash. After they updated it today, the car feels GREAT, no hesitation, and pulls strong and smooth from about 2k. Anyway enjoy the info on the STIS site.
  9. Hello All,

Does anyone know if Subaru's "stop sale" order on all 2.5 turbo equipped cars affects the 2007 models as well. What exactly is wrong with the engines? Is it a design flaw, or just a production line problem over a select few engines at a particular production plant?
