  1. yeah i still haven't gotten the recovery points and light bar welded on like i need or the hood painted. divorce is expensive so itll take a while...
  2. i haven't been following this for a while, you didn't always have the FMIC, correct? i'm thinking ill drive my piece of shit until something in the 2.5i drivetrain dies and then ill track down an ez36 and 5EAT and follow your build in my outback. the reason i ask about the FMIC is that it wouldn't work for me, i have a custom bumper beam with a winch so that wouldn't fit. i miss power but its not much fun when you're car can barely get over potholes. i wanna put most of your stuff in my lesbaru family truckster. dont have any recent pics, now i have a LGT hood and the entire car sits another inch higher
  3. the zip ties were just supposed to be temporary. but they lasted like 4 years. itll look 100x better once i get a tube bumper welded on the front for another 2 sets of lights plus recovery points. and yeah the entire car will get bedliner eventually, but im so ******* lazy and summer is just around the corner. 4 overlanding trips already planned for the year. each summer i get hundreds of little scratches so why **** with an actual paint job? a subaru is no rock crawler, but it makes the perfect everyday car and will go places where idiots think you need 35" tires.
  4. Changed my mind on the paint, entire car will just get black bedliner. Car sees way too much abuse for expensive paint. My front end is scraping a lot lately, need the extra clearance. Now I definitely need to learn to weld...
  5. i know it looks pretty awful without paint and i need to swap over bug shield and garnish will stay black. but i am lazy and get sidetracked very easily...
  6. Always a good day when the lesbaru truckster has no issues but a land cruiser on 35s gets buried up to its axles. I definitely need a lift though..
  7. plastic doesn't mean much to those who would even have words like "approach angle" in their vocabulary. the forester may seem like a slightly better option but the craptastic interior and lack of any towing capacity arent so great.
  8. i actually got the idea from a car at a high school. i'm surprised i haven't gotten shit about it yet, but it is out of necessity that i moved it.
  9. i haven't posted on this thread yet. here's my outback next to what it looked like 5 years ago.
  10. well i see my photo is no longer on here so here's another
  11. oh, didn't know you were in an accident. i hope just bent sheetmetal and plastic. and good idea, but when im asked for a mod list, ill just stick with "zip ties"
  12. fmic? so you gonna get rid of your hood and get a plain legacy hood? i want an LGT hood but i'm not paying $1000 for an unpainted one.
  13. i ordered the intake this morning but just found this thread. i cancelled the order. i was thinking this would eliminate the snorkus, since i wanna put on a tube bumper on my outback. looks like ill have to figure something else.
  14. i never really looked til now but these transmissions aren't so expensive. i gotta stop listening to idiots telling me horror stories about what stealerships charge. yeah some fail, but its a pretty low percentage compared to the rest of the automotive industry.
  15. damn, aren't there any good shops for subarus in your area? the place i go only works on subarus, they definitely know what they're doing. a CVT fluid change is only $150.
