I had this same dilemma when i went to tint my 05lgt. Dont worry about the windshield. once you tint the rest of the windows. it makes the blue appear to be much darker. Almost looks to be the same...

ya the temp is fine. stays normal. i had a check engine light a month or so ago that i got cleared. p2096. because of a crack in my downpipe. welded it up and no problems on that front.
