I had the same issue and after some investigating...

I had the same issue and after some investigating it turned out to be the passenger side valve cover gasket. It took me about 3 hours and a beer or two. The hardest part was getting the coils back...

Spring rates and compatibility

Is there a chart that has the various spring rates on it? Do the 05+ springs work on the 00-04 cars? I'm sure I made this apparent in a different thread but I'm trying to stiffen up my car a little...

Seems to be a difference in final drive? My wife has an 03 Legacy wagon 5spd and I have an 02 GT wagon 5spd and mine seems a bit quicker. It also pulls better on hills than hers does in 5th gear

Does anyone make stiffer springs that won't lower the car much if @ all? I know for VW and BMW applications, H&R would make "Cup" springs that were stiffer than stock but wouldn't lower the car. ...
