I did this all awhile back.... I had a 3 foot cheat pipe (from my jack) and a 280lb buddy, no dice. It took the shop 20 minutes to get it broken. This is with it on a lift... I watched the guy bounce...

There was plenty of that, just sucked that I had to put back together my rear suspension and drive it somewhere (raked stance ftw!) just to get the last bolt loosened...

I had a clunk after I finished mine, but that was due to the top nut not being tight. Pull the dust cover and put your pass-thru socket and allen wrench on there and make sure that thing is tight.

I used vice grips around the socket, I eventually went and got a set of passthru sockets when I discovered that I didn't quite get it tight enough (after it was installed).

I believe only the limited's have the climate control... you should be good to go with an aftermarket deck. I have a sony dsx-300btx, I don't even have the external microphone and I get no complaints...
