I went to install a new head unit today and made a disheartening discovery. The fm plug for the 2013 MY seems to have changed. Instead of the square grey plug it is now a round black plug....

Found the problem. For 2013 the fuse labeled "integrated body unit" #14 on the inside box is the one that the lights, radio, and door locks run on.

I'm having the exact problems described in the original post but with my 2013 Legacy. Is this a known issue? The recall for puddle lights only effects through 2012 so I'm not sure what to do here.

I used goof off on my car it didn't seem to do any harm. The can says it can be used for auto applications. With that said definitely clay/wax/clean afterwards.

The OEM rack is in fact a Yakima rack. I fine it to be quite nice and like it more than my friends' Thule, Inno, etc racks.
