  1. It is winter, so this has fallen to the bottom of the list, but any ideas would be appreciated. I could see anything visually wrong. Rear roof works normally. Front roof motor works, but glass panel needs to be pushed up manually, but will close with button/motor. Is this a pulley or gear system for the front lift? Is this plastic bushing above part of the system? There's little info out there about these sunroofs. Thank you!
  2. The white '00 is on the cusp of 207k miles and the green wagon just turned 70k. They're each old enough that they need a little attention. White sedan is about to get the 210k service plus shocks all of the way around, tires, and a new evaporator core. The green wagon has a front sunroof that won't go up (and I've had no luck sourcing diagnostic or part information). ALso considering a rear view mirror upgrade so that I can power the dashcam, but I've found multiple connectors, mounts, and most used mirrors without the connecting cable, making them useless as an upgrade.
  3. Also, if anyone can advise on how to log in to legactgt.org, that would be great. The security image doesn't show, so I can get past that to login, register again, or contact them.
  4. Hey all. My beloved 2000 GT a/c stopped working a few weeks ago. The sniffer tells me that refrigerant is leaking only inside from under the dash, so I fear an evaporator or a related O-ring. If I have to go in there, it seems like it makes sense to just replace the evap, even if that isn't the bug. Aftermarket is cheap. I can't find, in the service manuals or the YouTubes, how this can be done, hopefully without pulling the dash. I do see that it is possible on other Subaru models. Does anyone have a link to the instructions that I can read or watch...or have any info to add? Thank you! I hate to think that it'll be a winter only car for me after 200k+ miles.
  5. Hey all. My '04 wagon is about to turn 60k (yay!) and the front of the two sunroofs doesn't go up automatically. I can push it up once the motor has done its part, and it goes down fine with the switch. It cannot be pushed up until the motor finished cycling, so it seems like a broken gear, slide, etc. Rear roof works fine. I can't find any info about what drives the two scissors producing lift at the rear of the glass. Does anyone have any pics of one of these out? I must be searching for the wrong terms, as I can't find anything on YouTube, Google, forums, etc. I see that a frame is still available (65421AE00A), but I don't know what parts I might need or if they are a part of that frame. I can't see in there from any angle, even with a mirror and light. Thank you! P.S. I did find this item under the rear floormat, but it may not be related.
  6. "I'm a lover not a fighter!" I just sold a low mile 2003 Outback but kept the 2004 Legacy wagon for track day hauling duty!
  7. I bought this car new back in MA in 2001. It was driven in from NY or VT for me. I've done nearly all of the maintenance. It has just over 200k on it now and has been my favorite car. It has been in snowbanks, on race tracks, hauled a trailer to many track days and mountain trips, on Deal's Gap and others countless times. It is...superb, and still looks and drives like new. Countless memories!
  8. Thank you! I installed the Denso the other day and got an OEM cap. Back on the road!
  9. Can anyone verify if DENSO 221-3601 radiator fits both auto and manual transmission 2000 Legacies? i'm getting conflicking info that they use different radiators, although I have no idea why. Thanks.
  10. That is really interesting. Thank you (saving it to my personal file!). I wish that all three of mine had the engine in my 2000 GT manual. It is so much smoother.
  11. Thank you. That makes sense (and is new to me). Would any of the parts from the '00 swap in and would it make a difference?
  12. Thank you! All of my 03/04 Legacies have had the problem. The performance shop looked at them and said that they fuel flow dropped off of a cliff without any throttle on. It certainly feels like it. Some have had iffy neutral sensors, and replacing those helped a bit, but none feel anything like the '00. I wonder why all of mine look the same, cables on throttle bodies; no electronics. I think that I've look at the PCV and IACV before, but I'll double check my notes. Some research reveals that the ECMs are not interchangeable, so i'll hunt a little for other things and then just continue to live with them. They're low mile cars (50k and 70k miles), so I'll likely have them forever.
  13. Are you sure? Mine all look like cables. Do you think that it is the throttle bodies causing the variance? I figured it was the basic electronics.
