OK.... I guess the hypothesis would be the ECU senses the slightly lower temperature and allows higher shift points (not really redline, but close enough for this conversation) for the AT. ...

There are posts on reducing restriction, e.g., see threads on resonator delete, reporting various perceived results.

If they're the original bulbs, you've been quite fortunate. Most of the '05-06 have short bulb life. I blame it on the DRL's but others have different opinions.

My hypothesis, and it's only that, is that the reduced-voltage DRL keeps the bulb from getting hot enough for the tungsten-halogen recycling to work, hence the bulb burns out quicker....

I can't tell what's in 303, just that they say it provides a non-greasy, matte finish.
Water is cheaper, and is what the manufacturer recommends.
Personally, I'd just take them out & hose them...
