As far as the coil goes-There was no large difference. The small improvement will be credited to the new plugs and wires I did at the same time.

You could swap the whole cluster or just the tach. I'd just swap the tach if it was mine. The cluster is easy to work on. You could replace/upgrade the bulbs at the same time.
