Ultimately though - what your manual says is the safe thing to follow as far as change intevals.

Also - you absolutely SHOULD check the oil...

I have TPMS that is on at all times, since yesterday. I checked the pressure and it is all in order. The light is not blinking, ever, so I guess the system does not think there is a malfunction.

Yeah, exactly in the same boat... our 05 Accord has it and we love it there.

It is also IMO a super useful feature when the car is parked in the garage; during summer, the garage gets quite hot...
