  1. 2020 update, they suck. I put a set on two years ago. My first mind was to put in Subaru ball joints before I installed, because how good could ball joints on $100 control arms be? I didn't and should have. "Clunk, clunk, clunk," went the driver's side ball joint a few months ago. On the up side, also put on new JDM Bilsteins, Kartboy sway links and poly swaybar bushings. So there's that. The clunk is gone after putting in a Subaru ball joint.
  2. For anyone interested, my GT Rev. A Bilsteins were clunking up a storm, so it was time to pull them off and send them away for a revalve. I picked up, from the folks at JDM Racing Motors, a complete set (top hats, and everything) of JDM Legacy Bilsteins for my wagon, with stock springs. Looked up the part numbers, and they are the JDM analog of the B6 struts here. Installed them, and the ride is quite similar to the GT Rev. A Bilsteins. Maybe a skosh softer, but not enough to really notice. Nice to have the clunking gone, and there HAS to be a better way to get at the wagon rear strut top nuts. You need the fingers of a child to get in there. Also interesting is that my Rev. As came off a wagon, and have wagon springs. The just installed Bilstein setup came off a sedan, but the springs seemed a bit longer. There was an extra wind and a half on the coil. Wagon sits at the same height in the rear as before, so no worries there. Very happy all around.
  3. Had the tips extended at a local shop that did fantastic work. Even smoothed out the welds. Back in business.
  4. (Not really sure if this is the right place, but feel free to move if not, Mods.) I have been running a Borla cat-back on my Legacy GT wagon, and was the second owner. Had the tips lengthened to tuck on the wagon, and lived happily ever not-quite-after. The years of playing rally car in sleet, salt and snow did a job on the Borla system, and first the Y-pipe separated (hellooo, duct tape!) and then one of the mufflers broke at the can, where the weld failed. Just rust. Sent Borla an e-mail asking about buying a replacement can, as I knew they wouldn't warranty to the non-original owner. Man at Borla says, "Yeah, you're right, but send me a picture and I'll get you a price on a can." I do. Imagine my surprise when the next email says, "Hey, we'll warranty this, just send me your phone number and shipping address." I was stunned. But instead of sending JUST a right-side can, they send a whole new catback system! Pretty cool. Knock me over witih a feather, and count me as a Borla customer for life. Wanted to post a cool story here, and maybe other folks running Borlas in the Salt Belt have had or are having issues. Might be helpful.
  5. Thanks, Craig. I'd already figured most of that out (men don't read no stinkin' manuals! ), which explains my satisfaction with the climate control setup. I actually had a pretty cool experience the other night, driving home with a pizza. I wanted to keep me cool but the pizza warm. So I set the mode to "feet," and my temperature to 65, and the pizza's side (I had it on the floor) to 80. My tootsies were nice and cool, and the pizza box top was nice and warm. Man, that was weird. But with my WRX, I'd have to roast right along with the pizza. Kevin
