The stoptech pads seem to add more initial bite and this is certainly a benefit for the soft Subaru pedal.

I generally suggest the Stoptech's. They are a bit dustier though.

In some cases the machining leaves a slight lip that will thrum for a bit until it gets worn in.

Do the pads have a beveled edge? If not - add one and see what if any change that causes.
