So, I hearing that a good aftermarket tune could/should reduce the chance of the ringland failure. What is up with the factory tune that is contributing to early failures? Bad air/fuel mix?

Yea, I'm curious too. I'm hoping the tear-down will give some incite. The tune was mild and I ran the car for almost 40,000 since I put the upgrade goodies on and had it tuned.

Why the hell don't they put an oil level sensor in all cars along with an oil pressure sensor? Seems like this would be so easy to do now that everything is monitored by the computer these days.
