Sorry to be that guy, but the front measurement is actually 40.5". Not sure how much of a difference it would make on the car, but having put my rack on recently, there isn't much tolerance in the measurements. Nice! Before I got mine, I was haggling back and forth on a black wagon in Fort Myers, but someone came in and bought it for $3,000 more than the guy had offered me. Guess he knew how rare the damn things are. When I was looking in the Tampa area, I didn't see a single new GT with a manual on any of the lots.
