I went with the lt1 for a couple different reasons. Mostly because when Im fully done the lt1 swap will cost me close to a third of what an ls swap would have cost me. Also I wanted to do something...

I had no issues with it, i loved the setup actually. Maybe its because the flywheel still weighs like 14lbs which is not all that light.

I see lots of people say that about the wheel bearings failing early based on offset, but I've never seen proof of this. I see lots of things posted on this forum (or any forum for that matter)...
