  1. Not sure why all my photos are upside down, they look fine on my computer. Going to take some new ones tomorrow with the floor liners in and try uploading from my phone.
  2. Color: Diamond grey metalic Miles: 155,314 Transmission: 5 speed manual Title: Clean, no accidents Lien: No lienholders, pink in hand Location: Elk Grove, CA VIN: 4S4BP63C886347237 Seller's email address: kelvrick@yahoo.com Asking Price: 6k as is, will help with transport out of state The insurance and registration fees have finally gotten to me and it is time to get the driveway space back. I thought I would give it a crack here for fellow legacy lovers before opening it up to the other websites or potentially stock and trading in. I'm the 2nd owner. First owner bought it new in from Stevens Creek Subaru in 2008 and maintained it through them until he traded it in at 90k to Anderson Honda. Then I bought it and owned it until now. It was my only car and I loved its utility and performance aspects, but now I own multiple vehicles that do everything it can better (along with the fact it isn't smog legal). NOT currently registered, but all fees are paid with paperwork. It just hasn't been smogged to complete registration. 3. If he is talking about the 05-09 gen, they shouldn't be doing sniffer at all. Just a OBD2 plug in and visual. I've been able to pass while stage 2 (oem catless up) and a cobb dp with a turbo blanket + cut up stock heat shield. EDIT: This was with stock mid/y/mufflers.
  4. Nope, finally took the time to put the headshield over the downpipe and replace the grimmspeed intake with the factory one. I'm picking up a gx470 to take over outback/offroading duties and a friend of mine is going to take the outback. He isn't interested too much in that stuff. I happen to have one sitting on some shelves I'll be letting go pretty cheap. Sedan v1 though so it will be tucked. Too bad you shipping it to you might kill it.
  5. Been AFK from the forums for a bit, but I just passed smog with the outback today! Its been over 2 years since road legal. Wrapped catted cobb dp + otf stage 2 map + trimmed heat shield. Gonna have a pretty big yard/garage sale soon of all the parts I took off.
  6. A friend of mine swapped a salvaged 2.5 gt (engine, tranny, interior, everything)into my old 06 2.5i legacy. Even then, it involved cutting up the harnesses to get everything plugged and working. Both were manual, but it took him a long time to get everything up and running. He does this time of stuff all the time though and swaps subaru engines back and forth all the time. Being a spectator on the amount of time and work (he considers his work fun) involved, I would definitely recommend against your swap plan for anyone who doesn't have a service manual in their head and spare vehicles to drive around while this happens.
  7. Sent my cmp order form in for some garands. Ordered 2 service grades.
  8. Subscribed! Any word on rear caliper fitment? Its nice to get pots in all four corners just for cosmetic sake. If my miata engine swap was completed, I'd guinea pig these, but I'm not doing it without an easy second car option if I get lazy during the install.
  9. I wonder if he is going to go for one of those "lifetime alignment" packages that usually go for like 150-200.
  10. I drove up to Homewood yesterday from Sacramento for some snowboarding. I saw a lot of subarus along 80 and 89.
  11. I heard someone say they passed on a cobb downpipe as it met some requirement of the cat being so far away. More like the stock downpipe compared to how a lot of the other versions have the cat right off the turbo.
  12. Decided to cross post from the outback forums since it is exhaust related and it might help someone out. Did three of the exhaust videos yesterday, but the Stromung decided not to cooperate very much. As you can see, it is much darker in the third video with the stromungs. Ended up with two zip ties on one of the hangers before giving up. Went to a local muffler shop today to get a resonator installed and the hangers moved around a bit. Everything was recorded with a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus from on top of a Home Depot 5 gallon bucket at approximately the same distance. In case anyone is curious how the mid/y pipes are different between the systems. Stromung on bottom. http://i.imgur.com/stjvpiH.png Below is my mod list that is consistent across the videos that might make a difference. Snail Performance custom stage 2 tune Grimmspeed LGT intake Stock catless uppipe Cobb catted downpipe Cobb mid pipe with resonator Cobb Y pipe Stock outback mufflers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV9cZSDQkNU Cobb mid pipe with resonator Cobb Y pipe AVO unadjustable tip LGT sedan mufflers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaadqWbcV1w Stromung V1 unresonated tips https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49kwFVUkUSA Stromung V1 unresonated tips Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator 1142 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gtqko9gP18 Final thoughts? The stock mufflers are nice for long road trips. Which is why the wife made me put them on initially. The aftermarket mufflers made me much happier around town but were a paint for my old man ears on the highways from 65-75. It didn't seem as bad after that, maybe the wind noise just drowned it out. I honestly couldn't tell much difference from inside the car between the cobb/avo setup and the stromung. A friend said the stromung sounded louder though. After installing the resonator, it got rid of that raspy sound from when coming down in revs. I much prefer the interior noise from the stromung resonated setup, so I'll be keeping that. I'll have to figure out how to do the bumper cutout and trim to make it look nice though.
  13. Was heading home after work on 12/4 and was spotted by a 2015 wrb WRX on Laguna Blvd in Elk Grove off 5. He gave me the deuces and I returned em.
  14. Thanks for the response. I did notice the changes you already did and was referring to the surround that you vinyled white. Just in case you haven't seen, Heffernan has a similar grill, but with the surround in black. http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5140992&postcount=1052 I'm jealous of your suspension and brembos.
  15. Very nice. A few questions, if you don't mind. Are you still running 225/55/17 tires? Also, are you considering blacking out your headlights or going black around the grill instead of the white surround? Did you do all the dynamat at once? I'm wondering if you felt the doors or the spare tire well made more of a difference? I was considering doing the four footwells and the spare tire well and thought I'd ask you how much of a difference you thought the doors would make.
