Sounds a lot like a misfire. Have you tried running a OBDII reader on it to check if there's a code even though there's no CEL?

Which O2 sensor did you change? front or rear?

Timing belt should be changed with the water pump but ask your mechanic to check the tensioner,...

I was thinking about doing that too since I just replaced the front one. It's a cheaper alternative at least.

And it's worth mentioning that I live in Canada too so the regulations are different....
