instead of a pause, i hear a loud "chug" but not actually turning over. seems to only be a problem when starting the car cold

05 obxt speedometer cuts out

Last couple of days, I am driving and my speedo completely cuts out for 2-3 seconds, and then jumps back to normal. Car behaves normal and no loss of power. Any ideas?
