Strut installation?.

OK, I have a 2000 legacy grocery getter. I need to install new front struts and springs. I have been able to get a great set from a wrecker.
Do I need to align the top bearings relative to the strut...

I actually have a code reader but the badge under the hood does not state that the vehicle is OBD11 compliant. I am therefore looking for an alternative clearing method. A little Internet searching...

Clearing codes

Sorry folks, I am new here but.

My 2000 legacy is throwing a PO447 code. I assume it was a bad gas cap but how can I clear the code to see if I am correct.
