  1. I tried to pull apart the harness to get it out of there, but had trouble and was worried I would unhook everything else. So I decided to snip it! I just traded in my Leggy with DRL's disabled and no one questioned it. But I can always add a splicer back to it before I trade it to enable them again if I had to.
  2. Traded my Leggy GT Wagon Stage1, pimped out. Got a Outback, Obsidian, Limited, naturally aspirated. Love it so far. Payment went down, insurance went down, gas costs went down, better ride height. Lost the power, but the benefits of the Outback out weigh the loss of power for us. Lovin it...
  3. Just did this, blue wire with black stripe, snip, and VOILA! Perfection. DIE DRL'S!!!!
  4. Question on the last step of this mod in John's description, located here: http://www.moojohn.com/subaru/fogmod.html John says "You want to "tap into" this wire, not leaving it disconnected on either end. " Does this mean you use a wire tap connector, or can you just cut the purple wire completely and squeeze both the purple and new wire (red in John's illustration)from Fog Relay into a regular connector? Just want to make sure, otherwise this mod looks fairly easy. Should prove worthy on overcast mornings/days.
  5. Ok, good idea on the wires, because quite honestly that was the big question mark for me. What wires and how/where to connect them. I am not worried out anything else really besides that and what to do with the shifter wires once I unplug or cut. For the home theater I just built I went with all Pioneer Elite components, including the Plasma TV. The speakers I bought are called Monitor Audio?? Hadn't really heard of them before a couple of weeks ago, but they came in a nice little setup that looked great with the TV. This is my second system, my upstaris system is where my good speakers are, B&W Nautilus 804s on a Krell AMP. But I like Paradigm too, if you pair them with the right amp they can kick some a**. When I get ready on this I will let you know. I gotta get it done, I can't stand the thought that this is possible and I haven't done it yet.
  6. I think I am going to do it...I will be the test subject for the 5EAT. I am in the midst of putting together my new home video system, so that has me distracted. But once I am done with it I will move on to this. Most likely when the weather turns warmer.
  7. Has anyone attempted to do this mod in a 5EAT yet? I am still a little on the fence until I hear a success story with an Auto. I know I am going to Eff it up somehow. And I consider myself pretty handy.
  8. So whats wrong with that? Someone could make a buck off it. People get an easier, consolidated way to deal with this. Its not a bad idea. But people can do what they want, I don't care. I am not even doing this mod, because no one has done a 5EAT yet.
  9. I don't think it is such a bad idea either way. Some of us don't need the entire wheel anyway, just the pods. I personally don't have a problem following the thread, but it is nice to see someone making suggestions that will save people time and enery to make this a more efficient process.
  10. I don't think this is a bad idea...One-stop shopping, and opportunity to make some scratch. Whats so OMG!! about that? Some people are stepping into this midstream, so they may not have the level of understanding others have, or the time to deal with sorting through all the details with an expecation they will know what to do. This project is not that easy to do. I think it was a good idea.
  11. Will do. I am going to order the POds this weekend from a local dealer or SubaruPartsforyou.com. Thanks bro
  12. Actually, re-thought this after reading through the directions. They are awesome but lack the necessary info for 5EATs. We need a process for both...I may be the guinea pig on it eventually...No rush though until I know I can do it. My biggest question is what to do with the shift button wires once I figure out where to plug the stereo controls in. I need this mod, I can't take it anymore! So this is a work in process I guess.
