The color has grown on me. I actually hated it at first! It doesn't shake like it's an actual misfire, just sort of like a shudder/chug. There's a tuner I brought my old ones to that will check it...

I just kept saying I wasn't paying that much. I went back to it several times to make sure I wanted it. I'm happy with it. It has the concerning shake at idle that seems like a misfire like my other...

After passing a compression test, getting a hold of records and somewhat making friends with the guy, I ended up buying it for $3200 which left me with $1300 extra. He said he would do the valve...

One thing I wanted to check with you all is that after my 30 minute test drive on one, the engine bay smelled like burning oil. Never smelled it in the car and I had the heat on. Not very uncommon on...

I'd hate to sell my outback for something that isn't a Subaru. But I've found a 2009 Santa Fe Limited for only $4500, but its 3 hours away. The car makes more sense for the money. I'll post back here...

True, and I can always add things on if I really need to. The rust has started on that one and it's not going to stop. I'm looking at another 05 XT Limited with 155k

One thing I noticed on this one was that the drivers seat seemed to have an 8 way adjustment. It was really comfortable. The 3 Limited's I had before didn't have a thigh/forward height adjustment,...

It's sort of hard to pass up a nice 09 Forester for the same price but I really miss the turbo. I'm leaning further away from that one. I did like the way it drove though.

I've found a couple...

Should I buy this GT with 225k miles?

I sold my 09 Outback 2.5i to get another GT. The one I looked at is a one owner 05. It was clearly maintained. He put a stage 1 map on it recently. Banjo filter removed long ago, everything kept up....

I believe it has the common 30 day/3k mile.
After talking them down several thousand though, I'm not sure.
It's either this, an 09-12 Rav4 V6 or a 10-12 Fusion Hybrid. Since the last two are a dime...

I called the dealer it was serviced pretty well at. They said #1 ignition coil was replaced at 82k. They said just the coil was bad. Does that sound iffy? I've never heard of a coil going bad that...

I talked the Outback seller down to $8500 from $10k because of the belt.
Funny thing is, the "local" (2 hours away) Subaru tuning shop charges $900 for a full belt job, and my actual local dealer...

Lots of good points. I do have a family and drive on rough roads a lot. The LGT is in Connecticut so there's a slightly smaller chance of rust. I read mixed reviews on the revised 5EAT on the 08-09....

I read the Carfax of the 05 LGT and they took it to Sears for oil changes since 50k miles. I really don't like the sound of that. It seems like it's always a gamble with these anyways, but that makes...

That's what I'm worried about, mostly with the 05 is the valve gaskets. I'll have to make sure nothing is wet at all! I do like the '05 but I'm wondering if anyone I know will drive 8 hours for me...

It seems I can't get away from these Subies for long so I'm back.
My options are a 2005 LGT 5EAT with 105k miles, timing belt done, second owner with documents and he used M1 (uh-oh) every 3k miles....

I had the T connector replaced, that was where the vac leak was. If I'm not working I'll check the WG and see if the turbo spins freely this weekend.

I put some around the end of the coils but not much. I won't add any on the new ones. One of the coils wouldn't push onto the plug for a long time for no apparent reason.

Thats interesting. The tuner said it should be at 15psi. My mechanic couldn't find anything wrong and said it's more than likely the ignition coils.

It was 12.6. After they fixed the vacuum leak nothing changed so I'm assuming it's still 12.6

I wonder if that's all it could be. It does lose power going uphill and the plugs only have 20k on them.
The filter is $80, and the Walbro pump assembly is only $100. The fuel pressure and trims...

That's what I thought but it just passed emission inspection. I'll try disconnecting it from the mid pipe and also removing the front o2 sensor to see if it drives better. I removed the engine cover...
