  1. thx again.. i took it to my local shop since i needed brake pads done anyway. sorry about posting on this message thing - thought it was gonna be a PM.. ha.
  2. I replied to the other thread but I got it done at Metrowest Subaru in Natick. All they did was unclog the AC drain hose so nothing needed to be replaced. I was told beforehand that it would be more if the hose was kinked or needed to be replaced but it turned out that all they needed to do was clear the line.
  3. thx lgt_nube - thats kinda what i was guessing the case was too. oh well - such is life!
  4. great writeup - but i think i have a question still . my vents never seem to draw "fresh air" - it always seems to be HOT (well, not that its summer especially). but even on full Manual mode, with the 'fresh' air icon on (only light on the panel), it does not feel like outside air at all - if its 70 outside, the vent seems to still spit out hot hot air. any ideas?
  5. man.. that was cake. so much easier than on my impreza!! thanks for the info.
  6. Finally got everything going... with some discoveries. First - THANK YOU JAZZY!!! I got the Pro kit installed and MAN does it sound good. And.. you don't HAVE to take the side brackets off. Granted, you WILL lose ALOT of blood and have to remove alot more screws. I gave up on the brackets (three separate screw drivers still stripped the heads) and started removing every piece that would come off of the unit. Finally discovered that the metal under the circuit board will come out, and then the entire face-plate sheet of metal will come out, to allow for access to the mainboard from both sides. Removing enough screws would allow the whole unit to flex enough for you to (after many attempts) get the cables swapped in and out. One thing to note, at least in my case... the GLI's 1/8 plug did NOT want to stay seated in the Jazzy plug, though the regular patch cable did fine. I ended up taping the snot out of the GLI connection to ensure it stays in place. In the end I am completely happy with it. Just have to figure out where I want to run the Aux-in cable now.
  7. i got my stereo out with ease, in about 20 minutes. the brackets on the sides of the HU though - what is up with these screws? they are not budging.. i've got 2 starting to strip already... getting concerned! anyone deal with this issue?
  8. i don't suppose there's any hope for an Outback Sport SE (260W 6disc).. labeled "P133" on the face.. http://yettas.com/images/impreza/hu.jpg
