Either the valves are bad, the tolerances are too high, there's another issue causing the valve(s) to burn up, etc. or...

I'm also told that three (3) one degree cuts on the valve seat surfaces is desirable, to help avoid "hot spots".... Makes sense to me... :rolleyes:

Thumbs up 115,000 miles & still strong

My 2006 OBP LGT is at 115k & still going strong.
Spent $2k @ 101k mi for a burnt exhaust valve & new timing belt.
Only other expenses were PMs/oil changes, headlight bulbs, foglight bulbs, brake...

I called Subaru North America, and they asked me to send them a copy of the dealer's workorder, as well as a picture of the bad valve. Seems like "Don" gives a damn...
