I did some research for you on your question. The answer is there is no clear answer. It seems that about half the people on the sat radio forums have no problems using an XM antennae...

I probably did over tighten the nut. I'll loosen it a little and give that a try. It was moving very freely before installing the linkage from the transmissin so I know it isn't binding anywhere.
