Easy to tell. The one with pump has external pipes to route the oil. The "cheaper" one 100% does not have the pump.

The pump is not needed, a example of serious over-engineering on Subaru's end....

This info is wrong. 07-09 SpecB trannies are 3.54:1 as well. The only 3.9:1 ratio 6mt trannies are 04-05 STIs, 06-09 are 3.54:1 as well (not sure about 10-12, but I'd bet they are 3.54:1 as well).
