  1. Hanslo, When I had the springs installed by my dealer they did not say anything to me about cutting the bump stops to ensure proper fitment. They told me the job went smoothly, just broke down the stock setup and reinstalled the Eibachs.
  2. Thanks for the info, reading thru that thread you gave me looks way outta my league, lol!
  3. I think that my pursuing better bulbs for the LGT was the beginnings of my round about way of trying to get the "HID like" improved low beams. I know that starting with the fogs was not the best route, but I wanted something. I do live in a quasi rural area, but spend a lot of time driving everywhere in all conditions, no racing tho. I want to upgrade what I have, the full HID retro fit for the low beams would be ideal. I've driven other cars that have HID's and our stock low beam system pales in comparison. Above all I'd like the HID's to be OE reliable, lighting up every single time without issue. I've done a bit of research in the HID area, but please correct me if I'm wrong on anything:-) . . . OE Manufacturer's systems are in the 4300K range, I would my HID retro kit to look as tho Subaru offered a factory HID option for our cars. My only worry with the HID retro kits is ensuring that I purchase something of very high quality. I don't mind "investing" in a super reliable kit, but I certainly don't want to be taken for a ride on the price either. There are a plethora of kits that are available in the aftermarket, each company claims that there system is the most reliable, but most of their prices are too good to be true. Ultimately I would like to purchase from a vendor on here that supports us. I hope that this gives you a better idea as to what I am looking for. Thanks again for trying to help me out!!!
  4. no worries bud, I've many of your posts before I know you were just trying to be helpful! Since you have a really good understanding of the lighting issues and what is out there can you make some recommendations as to how I can improve the lighting on our car? I live in NH, we get S tons of bad weather. I'd like to improve the low beam, as well as the fogs and stay legal doing it. Any ideas? Gene
  5. TSI+WRX, I read thru the sticky quickly, mostly for information on what other styles folks recommended. It was my mistake for not reading enough on the board before making my purchase. I missed the reference to the HB4/9006 option, but assumed that the Tirerack and Osram/Sylvania would have accurate information. My assumption, my fault. No big deal, they are allowing me to return the bulbs and paying the freight. I appreciate the quick response! Gene
  6. I recently ordered a set of PIAA H3 Plasma Yellow bulbs from the Tirerack for use in my fog lights. I was at the dealer getting some work done and I asked them to install the bulbs thinking it would be a simple plug and play situation. They called me back and said that I had the wrong bulb all together. The dealer told me that the bulb I needed for my 08 LGT fog lamp is an HB4. I rechecked what I had ordered on the TR website, and it suggested an H3. I then went to the Silverstar website to confirm the sizing and it too said the fitment was an H3. Typically the TR is spot on when it comes to fitment, so I am wondering what the issue is. I know next to nothing about lights other than the factory fog does nothing for me as far as contrast, or visibility enhancement. If I didn't have a light on the dash when they are in operation I'd never know that they were on. Any insight would be helpful, thanks! edit: I'm thinking it has something to do with the bulb and the OE housing, but I am not sure.
  7. I can't believe that Eibach discontinued the spring for our car, I just installed a set at the beginning of the summer! My car has almost 33k on it, probably 9k on the springs. I'm considering swapping out the spring/oe strut combo for some K Sport Kontrol Pro coil-overs that my company carries. Would anyone be interested in my stockers with the Eibach's on? I'd like to get enough $ to cover the install of the coil-overs and an alignment, say $500.
  8. Thanks for the heads up! I didn't realize that the ride height would differ with the HD's. That changes things for me as I really like the ride height and look of the stock LGT struts with the Eibach's. I read a little more into the Koni option yesterday, they seem to have universal appeal with the owners on here which is definitely a good thing. How difficult is the install for the inserts in the front?
  9. I have been wrestling with this same decision for a while, even before I purchased the Eibach's. Now that I've had the Eibach's on the stock LGT struts for the summer, I realized how much I like the springs and how lacking the stock struts really are vs other options that are out there. I think that for the area that I live in, and the style of driving that I do, that the Bilstein HD setup from Fred Beans will be the way to go for me when the stock struts wear out. Sidenote, how many miles do the stock struts typically last, 60K, 80K?
  10. You made a great choice! I've been driving on mine for the past month and love them! The drop is perfect, lowered by still gives you some clearance for the rough roads.
  11. I am not running the alignment kit from the TireRack. I let the car settle for 10 days and then went to the dealer for an alignment. If I get any bump steer issues in the future I will likely install the Whiteline roll center & bemp steer kit, but for now I have had no need for it.
  12. NSFW, My wheels are XXR style 518's Matte Black/Redline. They are also available in a gold color very similar to the STi gold wheels. My company sells the wheels and tires, does anyone know how I can become a vendor on this site?
  13. Thanks! The setup is as follows. . . Whiteline front and rear adjustable sway bars. Front setting on hard, rear setting on medium. The wheels are 18x8.5's, and the tires are 245/35R18's Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport summer tires. The width of the tires required me to roll all the fenders to ensure clearance. Stock LGT struts with the Eibach Pro Kit springs. I really like how it rides when pushing the car as well as cruising. I have no plans to track the car, hence my keeping the stock struts, but for a daily driven car it handles exactly how I wanted with the above upgrades.
  14. Ok here are the pics of my LGT with the Eibach springs. Please forgive the lower quality I took them w/ my crackberry after work yesterday.
