If you only used mainly bondo for that thing, it will crack. Especially when putting it back in place since there will be less bending of the piece and it's going to put a lot of stree on it.

For a simple install, RR is fine, but once you start tweaking and adding other stuff, it becomes a pain in the ass to work with. You have to get all the different programs working together and in the end I just quit using it. With CF, double click and install, select what you want/dont' want and call it a day. CF has a good community with its own forum as well.

RR is a pain in the ass to configure and to get right. Yes, Centrafuse costs money, but it's easy to install and configure.

there is no space under the seats, the voompc case will not fit in the legacy, i had to place it in the trunk. the ebox is really small, so i'm sure that it will fit, but the power issues though.

Most CarPC cases fit easily under a seat, but it all depends on the car. I know that on the Legacy it won't fit. I was really thinking of using an ebox, but you then have to figure out how to power it in the car without a lot of hacking or even doing it successfully.

I would really not use a laptop unless you are planning on installing/removing it constantly. It's much easier and faster to just install a CarPC case that has all the wiring and everything setup to install the system. The major parts that hit the budget on a CarPC is the screen, but it's the most important piece of the unit. A screen that you cannot see or use during the day is useless. I would never get rid of my Transflective screen. Alot of the money for the CarPC also goes for paying for the software licenses. Licence for XP, licence for iGuidance, license for Centrafuse...

I can easily make him a complete CarPC system already wired/configured/ and all the needed software. The fabrication included as well if he wants and all he would have to do is just route the wires for the system and install it.

I never lose signal for no reason. The only way that I lose signal is way going under a bridge.

You can't even tell it's there since it's black. I've never had an issue.

I place all my GPS receivers on the passenger side top dash. There is no need to place it anywhere else, it gets perfect reception there.

Have you guys seen the new Asus EeeBox? That thing is tiny and it's cheap. The only thing to figure out is how to use a smart power supply with it. Dell has one too, but it's a little bigger and comes with Vista instead of XP, they call it the Hybrid something.

Dammm, I know how it feels when shit doesn't go right...but you have to not give up. I have learned from doing different systems that sometimes you have to admit that you cannot do everything yourself and outsource some of the work. Darkfox, what were you trying to do? Were you trying to continue the project of the oem looking screen? Did u pay with a credit card to this crazy place? If so, just call your CC co. up and they will take care of the despute, no need to get a heart attack trying to fight with a stupid owner. Tell you what, send me a pm and let me know what you're trying to do. Seeing how things have gone so bad for you with CarPCs, I will offer you a deal you cannot refuse. I will provide you with all the parts that you need for your system at cost. Yes, at COST! You want the transflective screen, I'll give to you at cost and if anything goes wrong with any of the parts, you just ship them right back to me. PM me if you're interested.

What part did u ordered and what part did u receive? In regards to hibernation, I am not using any type of special utility/hack to bring back the usb devices. They all come back just fine from hibernation. I was having an issue with the touchscreen not coming back from hibernation, but I fixed that I have been using regular 2.5" drives with all my systems and I have yet to have one die. Where are u placing the systemt that it's killing the hard drives? I have not used a Flash drive for HD replacement since I don't see the need for such.

That is weird. I have been using Hibernation on all of my systems and they are all stable. Yes, once in a while you'll get a hickup, but this does not happen often.

Why are you guys not using hibernate? I get about 15-20 seconds from starup to CF playing music using hibenation.
